Curriculum Development & Implementation @ St.Ann’s
Undergraduate and Post graduate programs at St. Ann’s have been thoughtfully designed to cater to diverse requirements like Skill development, Interdisciplinary exposure, experiential learning and Value enrichment. Course structure and Course content across all programs have undergone significant changes to ensure that all programs lead to skill enhancement and employability.
Core syllabi across all streams are focused on skill development and value enrichment. Practical training and participation in Internships programs/ mini and major projects have been made mandatory requirements in most programs. Collaborations with industry partners and local industries are helping in creating programs that align with the needs of the job market.
The Choice based elective courses-DSE focus at supportive & expanded scope in the respective discipline and the GE focus at multi-disciplinary knowledge, exposure to other domains to nurture all round proficiency and skill.
Entrepreneurship
IIC & ED cell are established to focus exclusively on startup and entrepreneur skill development. Institution Innovation Council are targeted at creating a supportive ecosystem for student innovators. Necessary technical support and mentorship is being provided by faculty and management to nurture student entrepreneurs. These centres of excellence have contributed to an increase in entrepreneurial activity on campus and Incubation and Patent support is also being offered to students.
In addition to focusing on employability, most programs are providing avenues to encourage Entrepreneurship among students. Courses have been designed to allow students to pick up requisite skills to establish their own businesses. These courses cover the basics of entrepreneurship, such as business plans, market research, and financial management and provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to start their own businesses.
The Bachelors and master’s programs in Business management have been designed to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, and enable students to develop creativity, initiative, and leadership skills. These courses provide resources and support for students wanting to start their own businesses.
Placement training
In addition to offering a course as part of the curriculum, placement assistance and career services are regularly offered through placement and career counselling cell. Interview preparation, Interpersonal and Communication skills and Workplace etiquette are all covered as part of curriculum to ensure that students meet employability standards.
Women empowerment
The programmes offered by St. Ann’s are enabling students with requisite knowledge towards Gender sensitization, Human rights, and Life skills, and enable experience needed to enter the workforce and achieve career success. Keeping in line with the Vision and Mission of the institution, courses like, Women-Career & Growth, Women Studies, Women & Health, Health & fitness are designed which allow students to flourish academically, develop necessary skill sets and gain employment ultimately resulting in women empowerment.
Add-on Certificate Courses- U.G. & P.G. programmes are embedded with many Choice based added on courses to develop skill sets along with their core competencies. These courses have been specifically designed by various departments to provide exposure to career opportunities in relevant disciplines.
Skill enhancement courses are aimed at providing hands-on-training, competencies, skills among students. Courses are designed to provide value-based and/or skill-based knowledge. Expertise gained in a concerned skill will provide students with more openings in service, industry and self-employment sectors.
